OFF Festival Katowice 2012: Beware of Swans!
Swans have a warning for us: “Our concert is going to be extremely loud!”
Following the suggestion of the band Swans, who are planning on being “extremely loud” on stage, we recommend that you get a pair of earplugs at least for this one show, especially if you plan on standing up front.
And what exactly do Michael Gira and company have in store for us? Swans are set to release their new album, titled The Seer, just a few weeks after their Katowice show. “The Seer took 30 years to make,” Gira said in a recent interview. “It’s the culmination of every previous Swans album as well as any other music I’ve ever made, been involved in or imagined.”
The album features guest appearances by Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker from Low, Karen O., Akron/Family, Mercury Rev’s Grasshopper, and… Jarboe.
