The American electropop duo High Places, the British producer/visionary Andy Stott, and Beneficjenci Splendoru (who are not robots, despite rumors) invite you to the Radio 3 Stage.
Get ready to dance to the beats of Metronomy and Shangaan Electro, and share a moment of reflection with The Antlers, Bardo Pond, and Mikołaj Trzaska, performing his soundtrack to the film Rose. And if that’s still not enough, prepare to be offended and deafened by Apteka.
Three new acts have been added to the Trójka Stage lineup: two American groups that take an irreverent approach to their country’s folk traditions — Akron/Family and Megafaun — as well as our own Afro Kolektyw, who also think nothing of blurring the boundaries between words and music.
American music scene icon Thurston Moore, the star duet annb: alva noto & blixa bargeld, the headbanging Baroness, the Texan bard Josh T. Pearson, Polish alternative rock queen Nosowska, and – reuniting just for the festival – Kanał Audytywny: we present the latest highlights in the OFF Festival Katowice 2012 lineup.
Let’s take a break from all the guitars for a moment. This year’s Trójka Stage will give you a chance to see and hear the future of rap, taking the form of the phenomenal Dominique Young Unique and the crazy trio Das Racist. And get ready for a taste of Jamaica, London, and America’s best club sounds with the project known as Africa HiTech.
We’re proud to announce that the Viennese visionary Fennesz will be curating one day at the Experimental Stage. He’s invited Kim Gordon & Ikue Mori, Henry Rollins, Papa M, Lillevan (performing in a duo with Fennesz himself), Forest Swords, Jacaszek, Mordy, and Piętnastka to perform.
With all the noisy announcements of the past few weeks, it’s time for a breath of fresh air: The House of Love, King Creosote, Jon Hopkins, and Nerwowe Wakacje will be performing at this year’s OFF Festival Trójka Stage.
Wars, social unrest, and the financial crisis: events like these have always had an influence on music. If you’re not believe us, have a listen to the cybercore noise of Atari Teenage Riot, the brutal truths dished out by Converge, Charles Bradley’s painful soul songs, and the enlightened irony of Świetliki. You’ll see all of them perform at this August’s OFF Festival, together with Shabazz Palaces, Other Lives, and kIRk.
From psychedelic music out of New Zealand to funk from the volcanoes of Iceland, to the unmistakable sound of Californian garage rock: everything is possible at the OFF Festival. Connan Mockasin, Retro Stefson, and Ty Segall are the latest additions to this year’s August lineup in Katowice.
The apocalyptic racket of Swans, advanced mathematics by Battles, and the folk raconteur Kurt Vile, along with Baxter Dury, Spectrum, Container, and Nils Frahm: here are the latest additions to this August’s OFF Festival lineup.
