OFF 2012: The First Stars for Christmas
Christmas is just around the corner, and have we got a present for you: Matthew Herbert and Alva Noto at the OFF Festival before party on August 2, and super-low-priced passes for the festival, which takes place August 3–5, 2012!
Matthew Herbert, the British ideologist and visionary behind modern electronic music, famous for his obsessive use of “found” sounds, is coming to Katowice with his latest controversial program “One Pig,” the life story of a hog from birth to dinner table. Not recommended for the squeamish… or is it?
But before Herbert and his litter of musical pigs take the stage at the K. Bochenek Katowice Cultural Center, we’ll warm up with a performance by Casten Nicolai, a.k.a. Alva Noto, one of the greatest experimental acts on the German electronic scene. And if that’s still not enough for you, after the concert head over to Hipnoza, where Canadian artist Diamond Rings will be heating up the crowd with his electropop act, followed by the mad Danish bunnies Sleep Party People.

- Festival Pass with Campground Access: 180 PLN — provides access to all events on August 2 as well as all three days of the festival at Dolina Trzech Stawów, August 3 to 5, and comes with a camping spot at the festival campgrounds, August 2 to 6.
- August 2 Before Party Tickets: 75 PLN — provides access to concerts at the Katowice Cultural Center and Hipnoza (Matthew Herbert, Alva, Diamond Rings, Sleep Party People).
