Dark electronica and loud noise-pop
We are pleased to announce another set of artists performing at this year’s OFF Festival Trójka Stage: the dark electronic experimenter Matthew Dear, and Male Bonding, a noise-pop act from London.
Matthew Dear
This DJ/producer is an important name on the Detroit scene. His music is minimal techno with a false bottom, and his album Black City can undoubtedly be described as one of last year’s most intriguing records. While technically dance music, these sounds will only get the bravest audiences out on the dance floor. Some regard Dear’s electronic gloom as America’s answer to Burial, while others consider the artist to be Nine Inch Nails’ best student. At the OFF Festival, Matthew Dear will be performing a live set!
Male Bonding
A London trio whose debut album, Nothing Hurts (Sub Pop), became a favorite among noise-loving audiences around the world. The songs are short and to the point, the sound is exquisitely filthy, and their noisy racket is somehow radio-friendly — what isn’t there to like? As you read these words, Male Bonding is sitting in a church in Woodstock, busy recording their second album. No joke. There’s no joking with Male Bonding.
