Sebadoh (US)
Lou Barlow has taken a liking to the OFF Festival. Last year, he graced our ears with the low frequency sounds of Dinosaur Jr, and he’s coming back this year with his other band – the legendary Sebadoh. Their records, released in the 90s on Sub Pop Records (including Bubble and Scrape, Bakesale, and Harmacy, to name a few), have become monuments to American independent rock. We’re concerned that Sebadoh hasn’t come out with any new material in over a decade, but as long as they’re still touring, we’re happy.
The early- and mid-90s were great years for albums that brought punk's two-minute punchiness together with the earnest relationship laments that briefly defined that slippery terrain known as indie rock. And Bakesale is one of the era's best.
