Lech Janerka (PL)

Lech Janerka needs no introduction to Polish crowds. This local rock legend was the leader of the Polish post-punk band Klaus Mitffoch. Their 1985 self-titled debut went down in music history, and was one of the most popular punk records released in the People’s Republic of Poland.
Janerka later went on to enjoy a successful solo career, but has slowed things down a bit since the release of the critically-acclaimed 2005 album Plagiaty. He hasn’t been touring or recording much since then, due to health concerns. Let’s hope his performance at this year’s OFF Festival gives us a taste of things to come — as well as a retrospective of the iron-clad canon of Polish independent music.
