L.Stadt (PL)

A promising band from the Polish city of Łódź. They enjoyed one hit (“London” was heard around the country), and then promptly dropped off the face of the earth. But no, they haven’t given up — quite the opposite, actually! As it turns out, the members of L.Stadt have been scouring the world for inspiration and opportunities for musical collaboration. For their latest album, L.Stadt managed to co-opt producer Mikael Count (famous for his work with DJ Shadow and Radiohead). Count seems to have been the right choice: the new LP, simply titled EL.P, sounds excellent and on par with the world’s best guitar recordings.
